Unconventional weaving
During this course, the assignment involved selecting an unconventional material for weaving that I had never previously considered using. This task encouraged exploration beyond traditional choices, prompting me to experiment with materials outside my usual repertoire to expand my creative boundaries and discover new possibilities in textile design.
Material - Raw coal
I continued my experiments, delving into the intricacies of weaving that involved everything from initial carving and grating to the final product. This process was rigorous yet immensely rewarding, as it introduced me to new techniques and concepts in textile artistry. Embracing the interlacing aspect of weaving allowed me to explore and experience something entirely novel, pushing the boundaries of my creativity and expanding my understanding of the craft in unexpected ways.
